Hihihihi! Thank you so much for your sign up, and double thank you for reading this letter! This is my first time participating in Storkswap, and I'm super excited to see what everyone creates! I hope this letter gives you some helpful insight and/or inspiration!

Quick disclaimer: I wrote waaay too much in the "associated freeforms" section, mostly because I had a lot of fun doing so! Please don't take any of those as required! At the end of the day, I'm here because I like reading other people's interpretations of a source text, and I would rather someone entirely discard my notes than feel like they have to adhere any% to what I've written. I've left them in so you can get an idea of what I like and what interests me, but if you feel like you'll get stuck trying to fulfill every bullet point at once, then please feel free to close the dropdown menu and ignore them!

Pregnant Astarions/ Astarion's Siblings

• Primarily looking for Cazador being the one who impregnated Astarion, but I'm also very into the "siblings allowed to knock that elfboy up" angle here.


• Either way, this dynamic is about safety, control, and uncertainty for me! How much does Astarion trust his siblings at the time of this fic? Are his siblings an extension of Cazador, or a reprieve from him? Maybe they're a harbour he wants to lay anchor in, but the connection they have to Cazador prevents him from ever truly resting in their presence. Who knows?

• My favourite of Astarion's siblings is Dalyria, but Leon is a close second. The former's experience as a doctor and the latter's as a parent could prove particularly useful here. I also like Pale Petras, but it would be difficult for me to like him nearly as much as Dalyria or Leon. Yes, I have thought way too much about this.


• For this ship specifically, DNW Victoria involved romantically/sexually. Your choice as to whether Cazador/Victoria is a thing, but Victoria is off limits to Astarion or his siblings here.

• This one brings up some interesting questions, especially in regards to Astarion and Leon's dynamic. Would Astarion manage to care about his unborn child? How would Leon feel about Astarion's feelings on the matter, as a father who lead his own daughter to her doom?



• Accidental pregnancy as a result of rape as punishment


• This one has a LOT of opportunity. Do they even know which one of them did it? How does a community of people under the control of the same vicious abuser react to such a situation? All punishments last longer than the actual act of punishing itself, but scars fade, and psychological trauma is often less than visible. What happens when a member of that community is faced with a punishment that now has its own lifetime?



• Agreeing to be surrogate in return for protection


• Alternatively, what happens when one member of a high control group gets special treatment as the result of pregnancy? This is especially interesting if the Astarion/Siblings here is an established relationship that gets rocked by this decision.


• Additionally, I'm fascinated by Cazador's role in this sort of scenario. He doesn't seem like he has any need for a strange little dhampir baby running around, at least not in any canon-adjacent fic. This makes me wonder, what's his game here?



• Arranged Marriage - expected to get pregnant within three months after getting married


• Hi. I like Arranged Marriage AUs.

• I personally belong on the "Astarion is very much a former street rat and any evidence to the contrary is him lying" side of the fence, and would ideally prefer to see things play out that way, but I'm very open to alternate interpretations!


• That said, my favourite interpretation of a Cazador/Astarion arranged marriage is in that sweet sweet "sacrificial virgin (lol) to save the village" sense. Astarion finding some sort of love or belonging amongst his fellow "brides," even if it's a tense and conditional one, is very exciting to me.

• Whether taken as "I like to see my blorbo get some pampering" or "I like to see my blorbo tortured by sitting still while stuck in a traumatising situation," this one's got some mileage on it.

Pregnant Alphinaud Leveilleur / Pregnant Alisaie Leveilleur

• Leveilleurcest IS the OTP!!


• My favourite flavour of this ship is less “we never expected we would be in love but suddenly we have fallen head over heels for one another” and more of a “we had to *learn* why people would be weirded out by our relationship because it’s such a natural conclusion for us.”


• Very “we have developed patterns of concealing this side of our relationship over the course of years.” A sort of “this could absolutely be happening in canon and the audience just doesn’t get to see it” kinda beat. Y’know?


• Please don’t be discouraged by that if you have different opinions! My only DNW is already listed- no amab pregnancies. Otherwise, I just wanna see my tiny elves!!!


• Oh! Dealer’s choice of impregnator, by the way. :)

I love the idea of putting either or both of these two on bedrest, and given that they’re both child prodigies who are accustomed to a high energy lifestyle, I think either could easily be a problem child. Or both! Both is good.

• I can never fucking tell how Alphinaud and Fourchenault feel about each other and that in itself speaks volumes. The fact that Alisaie reads as such a daddy’s girl sometimes? The fact that Alphinaud takes so heavily after Louisoix? Oh, there’s SOMETHING here. And that something could totally be made worse by a surprise pregnancy.


• Or a non-surprise pregnancy that Alphinaud is having trouble with! I just think it would be a neat aggravator on a dynamic that is strained at best :)


• I’m also a big big fan of how the Family Drama as a whole affects all of this. Bac

• I love the idea of Fourchenault being caught between tradition and, well, not wanting his teenage, transgender son’s snatch on display. Bonus points if the twins’ birth was complicated by having to be public.


• I’m pretty sure that ‘royal’ can here be made to apply to nobility, but I also won’t say no to a straight up royalty AU. I would NEVER say no to a straight up royalty AU.



• Spoils of war - loser kept barefoot and pregnant


• I’m going to sound absolutely insane here, but Fourchenault being forced to be on the medical team assisting with an Alphinaud/Garlean pregnancy (perhaps the first of what will surely be many) during a “fall of Sharlayan” type AU would be absolutely chef’s kiss. It could also give them opportunities to attempt to reconcile! At which point Fourchenault has an opportunity to do THE funniest thing-

• Ohhhhh I love these two. I love these two so much.


• One of my three "pregnant teenager and non-impregnator adult in their life" prompts!


• I've been fascinated by this dynamic since the minute I saw it on screen. The Thancred-Ryne dynamic overwhelms the Urianger-Ryne dynamic easily- and for good reason! But that just makes me desperate to explore it further.


• Speaking of Thancred- I would love to see him on screen, so long as Urianger&Ryne is the focus. I love that messy, messy man.


• Dealer's choice of impregnator! Thancred, Ranjit, Gaia, Elidibus, and Titania/ the fae all come to mind as good options, but I'm really down for anything.


• I am kissing Ryne on the forehead. I'm so sorry babygirl but I do want to see you suffer.

• I love Urianger’s whole “My Lady” thing that he does with Alisaie and Ryne. I think it would be very sweet if he saw Ryne struggling with her lack of impregnator (and perhaps guardian, depending) and decided he was going to take care of her. I think it would be interesting if the best way to help her was unconventional and perhaps vaguely against some moral code he usually isn’t forced to think about this hard. I think it would be very in character if he forced himself to put aside his own comfort for the sake of a girl he cares so much about.


• Up to you whether this means roleplaying as an impregnator or as the impregnator. Either way sounds delightfully awful.



• Accidental pregnancy as a result of rape as punishment


• I love that all of Ryne’s most common pairing partners come from some pretty fucked up places. I think one can easily make an argument towards a Ryne pregnancy just being jaunt around a cycle of abuse.



• Accidental pregnancy but the impregnator sees it as an opportunity to control pregnant character


• If Urianger and Ryne are running from something, what are they running from? This freeform could be an easy way to better define the stakes and/or threat of the situation.



• Active character on bedrest for health concerns


• I’ve marked this one in addition to “bedrest due to pregnancy complications” because it offers up potential for Ryne to continue pushing her self-defense lessons despite needing to be resting. Whether this is an “I’ve been abandoned but I need to keep in good form in case they come back,” a “this is the only coping mechanism I’ve ever been given and I don’t know what I’ll do without it,” or some secret third thing, I really like the possibilities here.

• See above!


• I’m just saying, Urianger could have switched to healing for many reasons.



• Breast growth


• Dealing with puberty-related dysmorphia is hard enough on its own. Having pregnancy-related dysmorphia on top of that? Can’t imagine.



• Breeding Kink - Pregnant person horny because remembering the pregnancy & whose it is turns them on


• Another thing I love about Ryne is how easy it is to interpret her connection to Thancred as a fawn response. Even if Thancred is not your impregnator of choice, this sort of behavior is oftentimes a pattern. With this freeform in mind, I have to wonder- does Ryne have complicated feelings? Are those feelings visible on the surface? Would complicated feelings stop her neurology from essentially kinking on her own pregnancy? And, of course, how would Urianger react to that?


• There is SO much to think about here!!



• Character expects to be abandoned when pregnancy is revealed; isn’t
  
• Hey, wow, Urianger sure has developed a lot of shame around his relationship with the truth. How do you think he would feel if he could tell Ryne is lying about/ avoiding something, but can’t put his finger on exactly what it is? How do you think he would feel if, before the reveal of the pregnancy, he had not so much as once realised something was wrong? In this essay I will



• Character finally tells others their baby is result of rape


• See above! This is further complicated by whether you decide to make the “of rape” clause its own piece in the “What does Urianger know at the start” equation.



• Complicated/ difficult pregnancy


• Again, Urianger is a healer. How does that skill affect their relationship? How does the relationship affect his skill? Even better, where does his philosophy on healing fit into all of this?



• A finds badly hurt & pregnant B; takes them home and takes care of them


• Maybe it’s been awhile since Urianer saw Ryne, maybe this is an AU where this is how they meet. It’s a damn good idea that works really well here.



• Forced pregnancy


• A lot of these notes have assumed that Ryne’s pregnancy is accidental, but I’m nonetheless interested in the idea of it being very, very intentional. That’s a whole different can of worms.
